It was a first in Malawi, to watch creatives interact with the corporate sector especially in a space where the creatives are usually shunned. In a magnificent feat where golfers from as far as South Africa jetted into the country to be part of the first ever golf tournament held for the specific reason of empowering the creative industry. The inaugural Lush Africa Golf tournament, organized by Lush Africa, a non-profit organization focused on supporting young people and women in the creative arts. The event held on 1st July 2023 at Limbe Country Club in Blantyre, was aimed at raising funds to benefit young African creatives in the Fashion & Beauty Industries.
As a leading platinum sponsor, HD Plus creations was responsible for curating the event as well as assisting the Lush Africa Team with media relations and promotion of the event. During the event, HD Plus Creations was represented by David Nyirenda, Mike Juma, Imran Daudi & Anthony Makawa who eventually came first in the tournament. Speaking on Zodiak Television’s Sunrise program, Helen Ngwira the Senior Marketing Officer for HD Plus stated that “HD Plus Creations as a growing creative agency saw an opportunity to be involved in an initiative that encourages the corporate sector to take the creative industry more seriously and see it as a valuable partner in achieving their business goals.”
The event ended in a colorful award ceremony as well as a raffle draw where one lucky golfer also walked away with a photo-shoot voucher worth MK50,000 sponsored by StudioPlus, HD Plus Creations’ studio photography company. Check out below for a gallery of photos of the event.
